For the production of La Vera Hot Smoked Paprika powder PDO by La Chinata, it chooses the best peppers in the La Vera region, with a careful selection of farmers. Cultivation begins with planting the frut in beds. At the end of May, the plant, already cultivated, is transplanted into the soil to complete its growth. The varieties of pepper used are mainly Jaranda, Jariza and Bola.
Drying follows the century-old method of the Extremadura region of “La Vera”, with the use of oak wood for more than 10 days. This drying gives the product a unique aroma and flavor, which distinguish it from any other spicy smoked pepper in the world.
