Limpets with Afonso Sauce

Limpets are a very popular shellfish on the islands. In this recipe they are simply grilled, with garlic, pepper, butter and sprinkled with lemon juice.

Preparation Method

  1. Wash the limpets;
  2. Chop onion and garlic and pass it through olive oil, without letting it brown;
  3. Add chopped red pepper and parsley and season with salt and pepper;
  4. Add the limpets and let them cook quickly (don’t let them cook for too long as they may become hard);
  5. Stir the pan without stirring with a spoon;
  6. Adjust the seasoning to your taste.
